Initially introduced in March 2000, the Chrysler PT Cruiser is one of the best selling modern sedans these past few years. The combination of a great design and powerful engine is an undeniably great deal. Add to that the great engine options that bust up the torque a few more notches. The Chrysler PT Cruiser is boosted by a 2.4-liter, twin-cam four-cylinder engine that comes in three configurations; the 150-horsepower engine comes standard in the base, Touring Edition, and Limited Edition models, the 180-horsepower turbocharged version is optional for the Touring Edition and Limited Edition and the 220-horsepower High Output turbocharged alternative comes with the GT.

This sedan may look diminutive but don't be deceived because the Chrysler PT Cruiser is perfectly capable of carrying large loads. The rear seats can be adjusted to fold or slide down to the floor and thus accommodate bigger cargo. When used, the seats which can hold up to five people, is immensely comfortable with the cloth covered bucket seats. Interior equipments vary as the trim level moves up. The base Chrysler PT Cruiser comes with a six-speaker AM/FM/cassette stereo; bucket seats and floor console; tilt steering; power windows; tinted glass; rear window defroster, wiper, and washer; 65/35 split folding rear seat; and 15-inch steel wheels.

 

The Touring trim drops in the air conditioning, CD player, power central locking with remote keyless entry, power mirrors, a fold-flat front passenger seat with storage drawer among its interior features. The Limited trim comes with side-impact airbags, cruise control, AM/FM/CD/cassette audio, upgraded cloth upholstery, lumbar support and power height adjustment for the driver's seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, security alarm, and a universal garage-door opener.

 

The GT sedan adds four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, a performance-tuned suspension, traction control, and all-season performance tires on 17-inch chromed aluminum wheels. This sedan also comes with side-impact airbags and most of the Limited's luxury features. Leather sport seats and a power moonroof are standard on the GT.
